What does Ap Sys Aux +DHW/ Solar Pumps Energy consist of?

Hello All,

I have some puzzling results.




So as you can see above for the office building we have found that in our baseline setup we have extra Aux energy usage.

As we do not have any solar heating, DHW etc, it can only be the Apache System Auxiliary?





The above image shows that overnight there is no energy usage by the equipment but in the original simulation there was constant energy usage (around 12kW) over the entire year.

Now I changed something obviously but am not sure what did this, and is this actually a more accurate result?



As this system is a fan coil setup, Apache could view the fans to be continually running overnight. But this would not be the case....

Usually when I see a constant load throughout the night it makes me think that you've got a DHW circulation pump set within one of your Apache Systems.

It doesn't matter if you've not applied this system to any zones within the model, if the system exists and has a value set for DHW circ pump then the pump power will be taken account of and applied continuously 24/7.

Failing that, look at your Aux Energy Plant profile that is set under the Room Conditions tab. Maybe you changed something there between runs?
