Hi
I have been using the Prometheus weather profiles from Exeter http://emps.exeter.ac.uk/research/energ ... downloads/ i am using the hottest (80th percentile) DSY for 2080
without a problem....till now.

i have just run a simulation, fine

looked through the results, ok

changed one paramater -a single opening type.

tried to re-run the sim and get this error message: 'ies-ve error no definition found for profile YEAR0080'

ok, so that must be the YEAR 2080 that i am running but what does it mean 'no definition'?

the weather settings are exactly the same, and i have changed nothing....why is this happening?

please help.

Hi Mac

Actually, I think the YEAR0080 is simply referring to an annual profile within your model and its name is just coincidence. I don't think it has anything to do with the weather file.

See if you can find the annual profile referenced as YEAR0080 within the profile database and if it isn't there it could have been deleted or otherwise lost whch is why the model is throwing up the error. In theory, IES should only use that error if the profile is supposed to be in use but occasionally it can get confused.

AAAARGH....

of course. its a yearly profile in my opening types catalogue....yes i have more than eighty flapping away

there is no YEAR0080
and there were a few others missing the related profile. not sure why

adjusted it anyway and off we go

thanks for the clear mind...i am getting cabin fever here.

for reference this typically means a profile is missing from the project profiles database but is referenced somewhere in the model. The VE will stop any attempt to delete a profile that is in use but occasionally corruptions can occur, if this happens and you see this error then you can replace the missing profile in your ApPro project profiles database.

http://www.iesve.com/support/knowledgebase/faq/2383

Remember that the error is telling you the ID you need to replace and not the name.

Also if you take a look at the thermal data in the model using Tabular Room Data or Tabular Template Manager it will show <missing profile> so you can see the affected areas.
